Pakistan, August 8, 2016 – Dozens of people mourning the death of a prominent Pakistani lawyer, Mr. Bilal Anwar Kasi were this morning killed when a suspected suicide bomber detonated explosives at a hospital in Questa, officials have said.

We gathered that some gunmen opened fire on the procession after the explosion. The identity of the attackers was yet to be ascertained by members of the Pakistani security.

Among the casualties are lawyers and journalists in the procession. Kasi, who was president of the Balochistan Bar Association, was shot earlier today on his way to the main court complex in Questa.

While condemning the attack Pakistani Prime Minister, Mr. Nawaz Sharif said no o-one will be allowed to disturb the peace of the province.

“The people, policy and security forces in Balochistan have given sacrifices for the country,” he said.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sanaullah Zehri has given an order that those injured be given the best medical treatment and facilities available.

Mr Kai, an anti-terrorists crusader had strongly condemned attacks on a colleague and was said to have announced a two-day boycott of court sessions in protest at the killing of a colleague last week.

Those killed in the hospital attack were said to include Baz Muhammad Kakar, a predecessor of Mr Kai, a provincial bar president, 17 other lawyers and Shahzad Khan, a cameraman for Aaj TV.
