Nigeria, July 17, 2016 – First half strikes from Guy Kuemian and Obomate Frederick proved decisive as Rivers United FC overcame Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday as the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) entered match day 27.
Guy nonchalantly chipped past the 3SC goalkeeper after a fantastic assist by Markson Ojobo in the 10th minute in the contest decided at the Yakubu Gown Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Obomate made it 2-0 to the home side in the 27th minute with a fierce drive that arrowed into the top left hand corner.
The win was enough to keep Rivers United in third place on the log behind Enugu Rangers and Wikki Tourists and technical manager of the Port Harcourt club, Stanley Eguma took the time to praise his charges after the win.
