If you don’t have passion, don’t try to be an entrepreneur. Learn to seek solutions to all problems confronting you and learn how to push through, even, if things are not working the way they should
Lagos, Nigeria, July 20, 2016 – Chief Executive Officer, System Specs Limited, Mr. John Tani Obaro has told undergraduates participating in the on-going Lagos State Government backed Ready, Set, Work Project, that to be a successful entrepreneurs, they must have innate passion for what they do.
He made this known when he engaged the participants in a motivational talk titled “so, you want to be your own boss? Tips to becoming a successful entrepreneur” on Saturday, 16th July, 2016, at the Main Auditorium, Ojo, Lagos.
According to the former banker, a budding entrepreneur must be passionate to become his own boss, believe in himself and remain focussed. “If you don’t have passion, don’t try to be an entrepreneur. Learn to seek solutions to all problems confronting you and learn how to push through, even, if things are not working the way they should”, he advised.
He listed some of the tips to becoming an entrepreneur as integrity, risk taking, preparedness, thinking big, starting small and ultimately, passion. He added that to become an entrepreneur, one must be creative and overcome the fear of ‘I don’t have money’.
John Obaro founded System Specs Limited, a Software Application Firm about twenty two [22] years ago after a fulfilling career in the banking industry with International Merchant Bank [IMB].
System specs is a home grown Human Manager Payroll and Human Resource Management Software Company, and a leading name among public and private sector organizations in Nigeria. Its remita e-payment, e-invoicing, e-collections and e-payroll platform has emerged a national asset, with its founder Mr. Obaro being named Nigeria’s IT Personality of the year 2013.
He is also a recipient of numerous indigenous and international awards over the years.
