SA, June 10, 2016 – South African court today fined a former estate agent, Penny Sparrow, 150,000 Rand for calling blacks monkeys.
Sparrow had posted on her Facebook page that blacks make beaches dirty like wild monkeys, prompting the ruling African National Congress (ANC) to press charges against her.
Her Facebook comment was said to have sparked public outrage in South Africa.
But today when the matter came up for hearing, the judge found her guilty and ordered her to pay 150,000 rand ($9,941) to charity. This is coming decides after the apartheid policy was brought to an end.
