Nigeria, June 27, 2016 – Lagos State Local Government Pension Board today embarked on verification of pensioners.
The exercise taking place at the pension office in the old secretariat in GRA, has been very busy as the pensioners came in droves. Among them are the very elderly, some came on wheelchairs, some with walking sticks led by relatives and some looking very frail.
They were so many that the temporary shed provided was not enough to shelter them from the sun and the rain that came eventually. Our correspondent reported that there were not enough chairs and tables leaving many to sit on the ground while others took to bonnet of vehicles to fill the forms which many could not get.
