ADEOYE, BALE OF ALAGBADO REMANDED IN PRISON OVER MURDER IN PRESENCE OF 11 POLICEMEN

The Bale of Alagbado, Alhaji Nodimu Adeoye, now in prison for alleged murder of Alhaji Rasaki Olaniyan Olatunji

Lagos, Nigeria, June 8, 2016 – The Bale of Alagbado, Alhaji Nodimu Adeoye has been remanded in Kirikiri Minimum Security Prison for conspiring with others to carry out an audacious murder of one Alhaji Rasaki Olaniyan Olatunji in the presence of 11 policemen in is property at Alagbado, a suburb of Lagos.

Adeoye and others had been arraigned before Hon. Justice Lawal Akapo for conspiracy to commit felony and to murder. The judge ordered that the Bale and his cohorts be remanded in prison until June 23rd when the case will come up for argument.

The deceased, Olatunji had bought a property in Alagbado and moved to site for the purpose of development, but the Bala insisted that his desire will not come to pass.

He was said to have moved to site on a particular day for the purpose of development. The Bale, lawyer to the deceased, Barrister Boniface Ohemu said was infuriated by the development and ordered his men allegedly to attack the deceased.

“He ran back to Alagbado police station and a number of policemen were assigned to give him cover to go to his property and commence work”, he said.

According to Ohemu, those assigned to him include Corporal Ashogbon, ASP Titus, Inspector Simeon, Inspector Alexander, Sergeant Akpan, Woman Corporal Idris, CSP Joy, DSP Omolayo, all 11 policemen.

“In presence of all these people he was murdered, 11 police officers, he was butchered till he died”, he said, adding “ it was when the policemen saw that they were coming to attack them that they gunned down one of the assailants. The rest fled and that is why we are here today”, lawyer to the deceased said.

Also speaking, elder sister to the deceased, Ganiyat Olatunji Popoola said the deceased was 39 years and that justice must be served by punishing the assailants.
