ABIA HEALTHCARE: IKPEAZU CALLS FOR COLLABORATION AMONG STAKEHOLDERS

Nigeria, June 25, 2016 – Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed the state’s readiness to partner with local and international health organizations to achieve his administration’s objectives and program in providing quality health care for the people.

A statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, said he spoke when he received members of Living Hope Ministries, a United States health organization, led by Dr Sunny Acho, at the Government House, Umuahia.

Governor Ikpeazu said the state will soon unveil a road map for the health sector, describing as important the need for health personnel at the state’s primary and secondary health sectors to help in training the young ones especially in environmental hygiene.

The governor told his guests that the state intends to build a strong health facility that would attract people and boost their confidence in the state’s health care system.

“Let me thank Dr Sunny Acho and members of his team at the Living Hope Ministries for coming to partner with the state in quality healthcare delivery.

“As we all know, health is very important to the development of every society, that’s why we are calling for collaboration for organization both local and international to come and partner with us to ensure that our administration’s policies and programs on health is actualized. We will provide the necessary support to enable you carry out this selfless service to our people in Isiukwuato and Umunneochi.”

He also expressed delight at the commitment and efforts of the founder of the Living Hope Ministries, Sunny Acho, to bring health care delivery to the state.

He solicits the partnership of Abians in the Diaspora to explore ways of assisting the state in its developmental plans.

Responding, Dr Sunny Acho, who is also the Founder Living Hope Ministries, said the organization has a mission of meeting the different health needs of the people in the society.

He told the governor that they’re in the state for a two week medical tour in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Governments. Acho said the vision of the group was borne out of passion and love for the people and pledged to work closely with the state government in whatever way they can to achieve a healthier Abia.
