Nigeria, May 14, 2016 – The two major contenders in the November Governorship election coming up in Edo State have assured R&B crooner and promoter, “Vote Not Fight, Election No Bi War’’ Innocent Idibia that they will work for a violent-fee polls.
They gave the assurance when the musician paid separate visit to them in Edo State, with his campaign after receiving a honorary Masters degree from Igbinedion University, Okada.
During his visit to the PDP gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Mr Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, he presented him with a bottle of Campari before officially introducing him to the #VoteNotFight campaign. The aspirant expressed delight at the visit and assured 2Baba that he would do his part to ensure peaceful elections take place in Edo state.
The next visit was to the APC aspirant, Mr Godwin Obaseki. He was also presented with a bottle of Campari and enlightened about the #VoteNotFight campaign by 2baba. Mr Obaseki, like his PDP counterpart, assured 2Baba of his unflinching support for the campaign and assured him of his commitment towards ensuring peaceful elections in the state.
The “VOTE NOT FIGHT, Election No Be War” campaign is an initiative that seeks to promote peaceful participation in elections, one that recognizes that political participation, not violence, is the best way to advocate for change.
Before promoting the campaign, 2baba first paid a condolence visit to the crown prince of the Benin kingdom – Edaiken of Uselu Prince Eheneden Erediawa – over the death of his Father, Oba Erediawa. The crown prince gave 2baba a warm welcome and accepted his condolence. He also presented a male Benin bronze head to the musician.
2Baba recently announced that he will headline the Lagos leg of “Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless: The Disruption” this year. He also announced a competition that would see him take some fans on a weeklong trip to Nairobi, Kenya. His latest single titled ‘Oya Come Make We Go’ features fellow Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless headliners, Sauti Sol, and has been getting rave reviews from fans and music aficionados since its release.
