Nigeria, May, 03, 2016 – Representative teams of the seven States in the nation’s North Central geopolitical zone will arrive in Minna, Niger State tomorrow for the zonal finals of the maiden edition of the NFF/Zenith Bank Future Eagles Championship.
The competition, which is for U-13 and U-15 categories, will see Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kwara, Benue and Kogi States and the Federal Capital Territory slug it out for supremacy in the Niger State capital.
Chairman of the Niger State Football Association and Coordinator of the zone, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, told thenff.com that the one –week championship will commence on Thursday.
“All arrangements have been perfected for a hitch –free tournament. The teams will arrive in Minna on Wednesday and screening will hold the same day, while the competition will begin on Thursday.
“We know how important this championship is to the present NFF administration and we will spare no effort to organize a successful competition,” said Fresh, who is a ranking member of the NFF Executive Committee.
The finals of the inaugural NFF/Zenith Bank Future Eagles Championship will hold in Lagos by the end of this month.
