Nigeria, April 12, 2016 – The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria holds its 10th Triennial Delegates Conference in the nation’s capital, Abuja, on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of June, 2016 with a theme; “ Labour and National Re-orientation: The Change we want.”
In a statement, President and Secretary of the union, Comrades Bobboi Kaigama and Simeso Amachree said the conference will hold an extensive discussion on the state of the nation and the worsening plight of the masses occasioned by lack of electricity, massive loss of jobs, abject poverty, fuel scarcity, over-dependence on crude oil, abuse expatriate quota, etc.
“As part of her programme, the Conference will also witness election of new officers that would run the affairs of the union for the next 3 years.
“The Conference will have in attendance a former Foreign Minister of Nigeria and former Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations, Ambassador (Professor) Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, as Chairman; Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, CON, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige, State Governors, Constitutional, labour and human rights lawyer, Barrister Femi Falana (SAN) as Guest Speaker, His Royal Majesty the First-Class Chief of Mambilla, Dr. Shehu Audu Baju II and Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Muhammadu Bello as Chief Host”, TUC said in the statement.
