US, April 6, 2016 – US Presidential aspirant seeking nomination of the Republican Party, Ted Cruz on Tuesday got a ray of hope in his quest to grasp nomination of the GOP when he won primaries in Wisconsin ahead of party front runner, Donald Trump.

With this win, Cruz now has at least 33 additional delegates plus the 507 delegates he had prior to Wisconsin primaries against Trump who has 743 delegates.

Trump needs to get 1,237 delegates to get the GOP ticket.

Cruz is however looking forward to the GOP convention where he hopes to secure sympathy of party leaders to edge out Trump from the race if the front runner fails to secure the required delegates in the coming primaries in his favourite states.

“Tonight is a turning point. I am more and more convinced that our campaign is going to win the 1,237 delegates needed to win the Republican nomination. Either before Cleveland or at Cleveland … we will win a majority of the delegates …
“Hillary, get ready, here we come,” Cruz said at a rally in Milwaukee.

Bernie Sanders of the Democratic Party also secured a win in the state ahead of front runner Hilary Clinton.

Sanders believes her hopes are bright in the primaries ahead, especially in New York.
“Please keep this a secret. Do not tell Secretary Clinton — she is getting a little nervous and I don’t want her to get more nervous — but I believe we have got an excellent chance to win New York and a lot of delegates in that state,” Sanders said.

Not less than 2,383 delegates are required to win ticket of the party.
Clinton currently has 1,742 total delegates — 1,259 of whom are pledged or bound to vote for her and 483 super delegates who have said they support her but theoretically could switch allegiances.
Sanders has 1,051 total delegates, including 1,020 pledged and 31 super delegates.
