Nigeria, April 10, 2016 – The town of Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State stood still on Friday as the remains of Late Mrs Eunice Oladipupo-Ogunwa was buried amid funfair. She was 95.
Late Mrs Ogunwa is mother of Engr. Omoniyi Oboli-Ogunwa, a People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2016, Ondo state governorship election.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ondo State Government, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko said that nothing can be compared to having a good parent, especially mother. Mimiko, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Barr. Kola Ademujimi, urged those who still have their parents to take good care of them when they are still alive.
“There is no doubt that mama lived well and enjoyed the fruits of her labour, may her gentle soul rest in the bosom of God,’’ he said.
Earlier in his sermon, Rev. Fr Dominic Akinjo of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Ode-Aye told the congregation to live a Godly an exemplary life saying that “the trumpet might sound anytime’’
The cleric added that the world is a market place where everyone has come to buy and sell but would later go back home to account for the good and bad deeds on judgment day.
“Our mother tried her own best to live a Godly and exemplary life, we should all imbibe this because no one knows when the trumpet will sound,’’ the cleric said. Engr. Oboli-Ogunwa who was also the Chairman, OKitipupa Oil Palm Plc told Journalist that he would miss his mother who was so closed to him.
He added that her mother was a disciplinarian who also strive together with his father to give him, his senior and junior ones good education.
“My mother is my mentor, adviser and role model. Her memory will linger for a long time in my heart, I missed her so much, may her soul rest in peace,’’ he said.
