Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi clarifies comments on lesbianism in female football




Nigeria, April 5, 2016 – The Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi –led Adhoc Committee set up by the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) for the Nigeria National League has disclosed that the Annual Congress of the NNL will now hold on Wednesday, 6th April 2016 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Congress will serve as precursor to the kick –off of the League. The committee was put in place on February 16, 2016 by the country’s football ruling body to study and compose governance structures for Nigeria’s second –tier League.

Also on the committee are Alloy Chukwuemeka and Dodo Isah as members, with Lawrence Katken as secretary. The Adhoc team will conduct the Congress and are expected to announce a new date for the commencement of the NNL season after the draws have been made.

The kick off of the League has severally been postponed as a result of the decision of the NFF to set up the Adhoc Committee, which followed the expiration of the tenure of the former Board led by High Chief Emeka Inyama.

New rules and guidelines to run the League will also be adopted at Wednesday’s congress.
Chairmen of all clubs in the National League are expected to be in attendance for the Congress, scheduled to hold at the Top Rank Hotel, Utako. Arrival has been fixed for Tuesday, 5th April with the Congress proper starting 9am on Wednesday.
