China,April 13, 2016 – At least 18 workers are feared to have been killed and about several others injured in Guangdong Province when a construction crane collapsed.
We gathered that collapse of the crane was caused by a gale which hit the crane forcing it to cave at about 5:40am. Video footage by China’s state news agency, Xinhua showed an ambulance rushing those badly injured to a nearby hospital.
Fire fighters were also seen deploying cutting machines to be able to unearth those trapped due to collapse of the crane. We gathered that the area affected was about 200 metres where about 130 workers were using as dormitory.
About 18 people are said to be in hospital by Wednesday evening and about 200 fire fighters are said to have been deployed and were very busing searching for those buried in the rubble.
