Nyon, Switzerland, March 4, 2016 – The Executive Committee of Union of European Football Association(UEFA) today named Theodore Theodoridis as interim General Secretary.

He is replacing Gianni Infantino who was elected FIFA President on 26 February.
Theodore Theodoridis (50) is a Greek citizen who has been working for UEFA since January 2008. He initially worked as director of national associations and as deputy general secretary since October 2010.

At the meeting today, UEFA Executive Committee also approved the agenda of the 40th UEFA Ordinary Congress, which will take place in Budapest on 3 May.

The agenda includes the application of the Football Federation of Kosovo for UEFA membership, as well as the election of a female representative on the UEFA Executive Committee. The deadline for candidature for this position has been set for 19 April.

The UEFA Executive Committee reconfirmed its decision of January that no UEFA Presidential elections will be scheduled until a decision has been made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Michel Platini’s appeal.

Regarding goal-line technology, which will be introduced in the UEFA Champions League as from next season, it was decided that it will be used at this year’s UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League finals, in Milan and Basel respectively
