Nigeria, March 22, 2016 – Organizers of the annual Nigeria Pitch Awards have confirmed that a number of State Governors, including Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, as well as NFF President Amaju Pinnick and Super Eagles’ Coach Samson Siasia will be honoured at the third edition of the Awards in Kaduna on Friday.
While Governor el-Rufai and Mr. Pinnick will be honoured with Special Achievement in Football awards, Siasia, who led the U-23 team to Africa U-23 Cup of Nations glory in Senegal in December 2015, will be adorned with Football Achievement award.
President of Matchmakers Consult International Limited, Shina Philips, told thenff.com on Monday that arrangements have been perfected to have a flawless ceremony that will last for only two hours.
“We are expecting a good number of very eminent Nigerians at the event, but we are working assiduously towards compacting everything into two hours. Red carpet will start at 7pm and we are going to ensure we are on time.
“We realize that the Super Eagles players and officials would be traveling back to Abuja very early on Saturday to catch the Egypt Air flight to Cairo, and onwards to Alexandria, so we would be on time for everything so that the players and officials can retire back to the hotel early enough to have good rest.”
