Egypt, March 1, 2016 – The Egyptian authorities have reviewed the case involving 20 year old, Mahmoud Hussein, forcing him to spend another 45 days in jail for wearing anti-torture T-shirt.
Hussein has already spent 2 years in jail for wearing a T-shirt with an anti-torture logo on his way home from a protest against military rule in Egypt.
He’s been tortured into signing a confession, and has never been given a trial. According to Egyptian law, two years is the limit of detention without charge.
According to Amnesty International, he is in jail for no other reason than exercising his right to freedom of expression.
