Nigeria, February 24, 2016 – The Lagos State University(LASU) has approved immediate suspension of 11 students who are old executive members of the Students Society of History and International Studies(SSOHIS) over the death of Omolara Gbadeyin, a 200 Level students of Industrial Relations and Personnel Study.
Gbadeyin died outside campus at a party organized by the 11 suspended students at Igando on Thursday 11, February 2016.
The affected students are Arubo, Babatunde Kareem, chairman organizing committee, Shenjobi Paul Tumininu, President, Kudayah Esther Vice President, Balogun Whenu Mathew, General Secretary, Eletu, Latifat Bidemi, Treasurer, Princess Omoebo, Assistant General Secretary, Omokeji Shobowale, Financial Secretary, Aka, Ramon Abiodun, Social Director, Yekini, Jamiu Oluwasun, Sports Director, Odeyemi Tope, Speaker and Adeshina Ademola, LASUSU Financial Secretary, Insurance Department.
In a statement, LASU said the affected students are no longer allowed to participate in any student related activities and that they will in addition to face Students Disciplinary Committee immediately.
