January 15, 2016 – National Chairman United Progressive Party(UPP), Chief Chekwas Omori has announced the passing away of his beloved mother, Lola Ezinne Regina Ugonma Okorie.
She was 83. In a statement, Okorie said that burial arrangement will be announced in due course.
“It is with sadness and profound gratitude to the Almighty God that I announce the death of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the Matriarch of our family, late LOLO EZINNE REGINA UGONMA OKORIE. She died at the age of 83 years old.
“The programme for the funeral rites of our late Mother shall be announced and published in due course.
“We request you to kindly join us in praying for the eternal repose of the soul of our late mother in the bosom of the Lord.
“Late LOLO EZINNE REGINA UGONMA OKORIE was the wife of Late HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS EZE EDWARD OKORIE EVERY, 1st IGBO I of ALAYI CLAN in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, who resigned from 1960 to 1978.
“Our mother is survived many children and other relations including my humble self, her eldest son and head of EZE OKORIE EMERIH FAMILY”, he said.
