January 26, 2016 – Members of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Nigeria have embarked on intensive prayers, calling on God to prevail on kidnappers who have abducted Overseer of the ministry in Kebbi State, Pastor David Onubedo.

He was kidnapped on Monday evening in Okene, Kogi State.
Two years ago, members of the Boko Haram terrorists had attacked a Deeper Life Bible Church in Okene, Kogi State and killed about 20 people.

We gathered that Onubedo was returning from a Bible Study session presided over by the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor William Kumuyi around 9pm when he was kidnapped.

But a source said the gunmen stormed his home and whisked him away. By earlier today, a very close family member said the gunmen are already in touch with Mrs. Onibodo and were demanding N50 million as ransom.

Key leaders of the ministry have confirmed the incident but preferred not to be quoted since they are not authorised to comment on the matter. Church Secretary, Pastor Jerry Asemota was not available for comment.

But text messages are already been circulated to Deeper Life members nationwide to embark on intensive prayer to that the kidnappers could release their key leader.

“Please, begin to pray and send prayer request to others for the release of Pastor Onubedo, a state overseer in Deeper Life Ministry who was reportedly kidnapped at his residence immediately after the Bible Study tonight (Monday).

“The pastor wants us to immediately enter prayer closets both as individuals, families and in groups for his immediate and safe release…key in quick.”
