NIGERIA DROPS TO 66 IN FIFA RANKING, 13 BEST IN AFRICA

December 4, 2015 – The fortune of Nigeria’s football continued on the wane despite improvement in age grade soccer. The latest ranking of best football nations released by the Federation of International Football(FIFA), showed Nigeria dropping to the 66th position in the world and 13th best in Africa.

The best ranked African nation remains Cote d’voire, which is ranked 19th in the world, followed by Algeria in 28th position and second best in Africa. Nigeria’s arch rival, Ghana is 33rd in the world 3rd best footballing nation in Africa.

The tiny Island, Cape Verde Islands is 4th best in Africa and 39 in world ranking, followed by Tunisia which is 5th in Africa and 40 in world ranking.

Senegal is 44 in world ranking and 6th in Africa while Congo is 7th in Africa and 48th in the World. Guinea is 8th in Africa and 50 in world ranking.

Egypt is 9th in Africa but 57 in the world, followed by Cameroon 10th in Africa and 59 in world ranking. Congo DR is 11th in Africa and 60 in the world. Mali is 12th in Africa and 62 in the world with Nigeria trailing behind in the 63 position in world ranking and 13th best team in Africa.

Belgium remains number 1 with Argentina in the second position. Spain is 3rd best team in the world, Germany is number 4, Chile is 5th best nation in the world followed by Brazil in number 6. Portugal is number 7, Columbia 8 and England in number 9.
