December 29, 2015- Executive Secretary, Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Mallam Ahmed Moyosore Jaji, has expressed displeasure over the way the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is handling the case of Innocent Nwevo, who is into oil bunkering arrested with 47 kegs of petrol(50 litres each) about 2,350 litres with a market price of N204, 450.

He was arrested in his shop opposite Sunday Retail Market, Ogba, Lagos where he was selling the product.
Jaji, who spoke in an interview with our correspondent said since the schedule of NSCDC revolves around monitoring petroleum products and vandalisation of pipelines he decided to hand over the culprit to them.

He explained that since the culprit was handed over to NSCDC, he has heard nothing from either the culprit or NSCDC but a funny telephone calls threatening him to either reopen the shop where the product is sold or regret his action.

Jaji wants a clarification on efforts of the NSCDC to prosecute the culprit since he now walks around freely and threatening to reopen his shop.

It would be recalled that sometime around July 2015, Nwevo, who claimed to be a food vendor, was arrested with 47 kegs of 50 litres of petrol around Sunday Retail Market, Ogba. Upon interrogation, Nwevo admitted that he has been engaging in the illicit business for a while.

He confessed that he embraced the business due to his dwindling business fortune, adding that he had six shops in the area but unfortunately, those working with him duped him but that one of his friends introduced him to the business.
