November 25, 2015 – President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama has assured citizens of adequate protection of lives and property as the country set to mark the Thanksgiving Day today.
He also said the US is not under any known security threats for now going by last week terror attacks in Paris.
President Obama disclosed this while addressing journalists at the White House shortly after emergency closed door meeting with Homeland security officials.
He however said that security is on red alert in the country in case of any eventuality.
President Obama also told citizens to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day without fear but that they should report to authority any suspicious movements around them.
US first marked the Thanksgiving Day in the year 1863.
