November 11, 2015 – President Muhammadu Buhari assigned portfolios to the 36 ministerial nominees, charging them to commence work immediately to justify confidence reposed in them.

Buhari who assigned them portfolios after the swearing ceremony said he held wide consultation in choosing them and charged them to work in such a way as to make Nigeria better than what was left by his predecessor.
“I consulted widely, working hard to maximize revenue for the country”, he said adding that his government is determined to diversity the economy through agriculture and make Nigeria a major exporter of food and solid mineral.

He said he will work hard to ensure food security for Nigeria without letting go of the fight against corruption.
He also restated that his commitment to defeat Boko Haram remains as strong as before and that government’s business is now being conducted with transparency.

He said the Treasury Single Account(TSA) has ensured accountability, making more funds available for the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) which he said has assisted more than 30 states with loans to offset salaries for workers.
He said that the CBN has been able to stabilize the exchange rate and conserve reserve. He charged Nigerians to keep hope alive about the future of Nigeria and its economic vision
