ACTV HITS NIGERIA WITH ‘AREA’ FIRST PIDGIN CABLE CHANNELS

November 21, 2015 – What looks like an impossible task has become a reality in Nigeria as African Cable Television (ACTV) births with Nigeria’s first pidgin cable channel called AREA.

The company is also giving three months subscription and an ACTV 6000HDPVR decoder plus dish for less than ten thousand Naira to subscribers.

Majority of Nigerians in the rural and urban areas communicate mostly and fluently with the pidgin English even more than their local dialect.

Also listed on its bouquet are Ibile, Oji and Rana, all channels representing Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa respectively to make the station proudly Nigerian.

Brand and Communication Manager, Mr. Abimbola Onagbade also confirmed that the company aims towards making the cable affordable to all Nigerians and that the monthly subscription is between N2,500 depending on the choice of bouquet.
Onagbade further explained that subscribers will have cost reduction, local content, lots of foreign channels, sports channels and a lots of free to air channels.

“So Nigerians need not to pay through their noise to get basic amenities like this”, he said.
He said that the vision behind the establishment of the company is to make it proudly Nigeria and to be at par with other foreign companies in Nigeria. He further said the decoder which is HDPVR has the capacity to record, pulse, rewind and fast forward, which he said is the latest technology.
