October 23, 2015 – At least 15 people have been confirmed dead and 40 others injured in the bomb explosion that rocked a brand new mosque in Jambutu area, Jimeta, a suburb of Yola, Adamawa State.

A health worker in one of the hospitals told reporters that 15 dead bodies have been deposited in the morgue while 40 others are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.

According to a statement by PR Nigeria, emergency workers have so far evacuated victims to Specialist Hospital in Jimeta and Federal Medical Centre in Yola.

We gathered that the explosion occurred at the perimeter of the crowded mosque.

“A health worker confirmed that staff of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have deposited at least 15 corpses in the mortuary while over 40 injured victims are being treated in the hospitals”, PR Nigeria said in a statement.
