MHF roles out programme to celebrate World Mental Health Day

October 9, 2015 – Mental Health Foundation (MHF) has rolled out a number of programmes to mark World Mental Health Day, which comes up on Saturday, October 10, 2015.

October 10 each year has been set aside by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to commemorate the state of mental health all over the world.

The theme for this year’s event is “Dignity in Mental Health”

“In commemoration of this day, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) and other stakeholders will be having series of events to draw attention to the state of mental health and how we can ensure dignity in mental health”, the organisation said in a statement signed by Nelson Ekujimi.

The events includes a road show/walk from 16 Harvey road to Evans playground, Ebute Metta, Lagos; a novelty football matches by male and female football teams; free medical check up; talk on mental wellness and healthy lifestyle.

The event will hold at 16 Harvey road, behind Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos and Evans Square, Ebute Metta, within  Adekunle area, Yaba LCDA, Lagos.
