October 3, 2015 – A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has been arrested by the UK National Crime Agency.
According to Premium Times, the former minister who has been in London was on Friday arrested.
The former minister was recently treated in London for breast cancer and has been resident in London since the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, whom she served left office.
She was arrested alongside four other unidentified people by the British law enforcement agency, the newspaper reported.
We gathered that she was arrested for offences related to bribery and corruption being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency.
Two top British officials in London have however confirmed the development to the newspaper but requested not to be named because they have no permission to speak on the issue.
We gathered that she was later released on bail.
