October 27, 2015 – Family of the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister has outlined elaborate plans to mark the fifth anniversary of the demise of the late Fuji Icon.

Parts of the plans are conversion of his house in Isolo into a museum which will be loaded with some of the personal effects and musical instruments of the late musician.

When it becomes operative, Ayinde’s Museum will be the second home of a musician to be so converted, almost three years after the home of the late Afrobeat King, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was converted into a museum loaded with his personal effects and musical instruments.

The family is also planning to launch a book in honour of the musician. The book, which is a biography, is due for launch on the 17th of December.

“The biography will bring to the fore very important information and exclusive details of the life and time and eventual death of Barrister. The family made a bold decision by giving access to such information, materials and photographs to Mr. Akin Akinyele and the right for the compilation and authorship of the most comprehensive biography of the Fuji legend”, one of the children, Sulymon Balogu said at a press briefing.

But it will be preceded with a prayer session which will incorporate a lecture to awaken the consciousness of the musician in Nigerians and his fans all over the world.

There will also be a musical concert on the 19th of December featuring frontline musicians while opportunity will also be given to upcoming Fuji musicians and those in the Hip Hop world to perform.
