October 22, 2015 – Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lagos State, Engr. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson says he has set up a 40-man committee saddled with the responsibility of patching pot-holes so that motorist can have a smooth ride in the state.

While inaugurating the 40-man committee, he said engineers in the ministry will participate in the exercise Engr. Johnson said the committee will also work on rehabilitation of collapsed drains and desilting of drainage channels where necessary, adding that the state of the road represents a challenge that the present administration is committed to address.

He explained that weather condition plays significant role on condition of the roads, but said however that consistent management and better attitude towards the roads by citizens will ensure improvement in the state of the roads.

The commissioner gave assurance that the exercise will not impinge on the programme of the Public Works Corporation, but rather assist in the realization of their goals and objectives, adding that the deployment of engineers to man the roads will also provide them with experience necessary for improved service delivery.
