Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho, making a point

October 15, 2015 – The governing body of football in England, Football Association has ordered Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to pay a fine of 50,000 Pounds Sterling for his uncomplimentary comments against the FA when his side, Chelsea lost 3-1 to Southamton.

He was also given a one-match stadium ban.
Mourinho lost control when referee Robert Madley refused to award a spot-kick after Saints keeper Maarten Stekelenburg brought down Falcao in box 16.

“I think it is time to be honest and say clearly that referees are afraid to give decisions to Chelsea. At 1-1 there is a huge penalty and once more we do not get it. It was at a crucial moment in the game. I repeat, if the FA wants to punish me they can punish me, it is not a problem,” he is quoted to have said.

In a statement, the FA said his comments imply bias on the part of a match official. “It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a match official or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute,” FA said in a statement indicting him.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho had said his side was always punished by officials because “there is always a question mark” from the media.

“If the Football Association wants to punish me they can. They don’t punish other managers,” he added.
Mourinho was charged hours after management of Chelsea threw their weight behind the coach.
