October 16, 2015 – General Manager, Inspiration FM, Mr. Soni Irabor has resigned his appointment as Managing Director of the radio station owned by former Managing Director of the now defunct Intercontinenta Bank, Mr. Erastus Akingbola.

Starconnectmedia.com gathered exclusively from dependable sources that the broadcaster extraordinaire and compere of the finest touch resigned few days ago. We gathered that although he is still in the company his resignation takes effect from November 10, 2015.

Irabor is leaving at a time that the radio station is going through stormy waters. Three weeks ago, one of the best presenters in the radio station, soft spoken Wana Udobang, better known as Wana Wana resigned when Head of Commercial, Olisa Obinna wrote a damning report against her for double standard.

She was presenting Sharing Life Issues and Safe Traffic on Wheel on Inspiration FM but recently went into partnership with Airtel Nigeria Limited for the talk show ‘Touching Lives with Airtel’ which currently runs on a television station.

Irabor is not the first of the big wig to dump the station, but his exit will definitely impact on the fortune on the radio station. It is not clear what Irabor is up to.

Last year, the second best female presenter in the station, Miss Gloria Maduka dumped the station for Cool TV over issues relating to poor welfare.

Among those who have already left the radio station include Charlse B, Etoma Edu, Wale Scott and former Head of Department, Marketing and Engineering, better known as Chidinma and Peter respectively.

HOD Cool FM Radio, Mr. Charlse Supo Orija also joined Inspiration FM as Head, Department of Programmes, a position hitherto presided over by the sassy celebrity radio presenter, Mr. Dan Foster.

When contacted, Irabor confirmed that he is leaving the station but did not say much on where he is going and what he is planning to do. He only gave a hint that he is retiring.

“At 60 plus, is it not time for me to retire. I don’t know who is giving you information ?”, he queried our reporter and requested for a chat at other time and that he was in a crucial meeting. Please held to share the story.
