October 19, 2015 – The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase has warned that the ban on firecracker also called knockout still remains in force.
Arase who was speaking in the light of racent bombings said the warning becomes crucial over reports that hoodlums are now using fireworks to confuse Nigerians in order to carry out their nefarious activities adding that violators will be made to face the wrath of the law.
“It has come to the knowledge of the Nigeria Police Force that some Nigerians have started using fireworks and firecrackers in anticipation of the yuletide celebrations.
