September 5, 2015 – Tragedy struck Saturday afternoon in Ojo, a Lagos suburb where fire consumed an 86 year old woman.

Director of Fire, Lagos, Engr. Rasaq Fadipe said the incident which occurred at Dickson Adebayo Street, Iba New site, Ojo also consumed the building which has 10 rooms belonging to the old woman, throwing the whole area into deep mourning.

Our correspondent reported that incidents of fire has become a very regular occurrence in Lagos State, adding that a day hardly passes without any fire incident in the state.

In August 27, a bungalow was consumed by fire in Coker Aguda, Surulere, in August 29, another bungalow was consumed by fire at Sagamu Road, opposite Nigerian Army Barracks.

On September 1, fire consumed Cellplast at Fatai Atere Way, Matori. That same day, another building was consumed by fire at Olatunji Odulami, Omole Phase 2.

That same day two buildings were consumed by fire at Magodo, and Nosamu Street Ajegunle, while another fire consumed 2  storey building at 21 Oduduwa Street, Ikeja, Lagos.

September 2nd, a male adult trying to rescue his wife from  a burning house at 1 Durodoluwa, Isheri Oshun were burnt and rushed to hospital.

A day later, another building was affected by fire at 33 Balogun Street, Lagos Island.
