4-day power blackout to hit Ikeja, others

 August 31, 2015 – Major electric power distribution company, Ikeja Electric(IKE) has unveiled plans to rest transmission  in the next four days in Ikeja and environs.

IKE which distributes power to consumers in Ojodu, Ikeja, Ogba, Magodo and environs said that it is shutting down transmission to enable it upgrade infrastructures aimed at improving power distribution in the area.

In a press statement signed by Head, Communication Strategy, Mr. Olanipekun Adeyanju, the upgrade is necessary as part of effort to improve power supply in  the area.

He said that IKE recently acquired some equipment which it is installing to improve power. Earlier, he told our reporter that IKE is also metering customers adding that any feeder that the company picks will be completely metered.

He said they are hitech metres, adding that all existing meters will be replaced with the new ones which he said are more interactive.
