July 20, 2015 – Itaoluwo Gas Pipeline was throw into confusion and deep mourning Sunday evening when a three year old baby died in deep well situated in the area.
We gathered that the baby was playing around while the mother was busy elsewhere but unknown to the mother the little baby had walked into a nearby well and died before help could reach him.
The incident which took place at Hazzan Sule Street along the Ita Olowu Gas Pipeline, Ikorodu, Lagos threw residents who were in the Ramadan mood into deep morning.
We gathered that helpless mother wailed and shouted for help when it occurred to her that her little baby was missing prompting residents to search around the area. “It was during the search that somebody looked at the well and found the baby inside the deep well”, a source said.
Confirming the incident, Director of Fire, Lagos State Fire Service, Engr. Rasaq Fadipe said the incident happened at 17:06 hours on Sunday.
“Tragedy at 17:06 hours, an infant of about 3 years of age accidentally fell into a deep well while playing and recovered dead at Hazzan Sule Street, Ita Olowu, Gas Pipeline, Ikorodu”, he said, via text.
