July 28, 2015 – A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Chief Babatunde Olorogun – Etti  has described his former party  as a dead party as far as Lagos politics is concerned .

Etti who was speaking after his formal defection to the All Progressive Congress(APC)  in Lagos said his declaration is not far from the truth.

“It’s time to face facts: PDP is finished in Lagos State. PDP can no longer compete in any serious way in Lagos. The local government election in the state will be a formality” he said.

He urged his teeming supporters in the state, particularly Lagos Island to go to their wards and register to join APC.

He called on Lagosians to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari to develop the country as he tries as much as possible to steer the ship of state away from economic hardship, political wrangling and insecurity.

He praised the former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu for piloting the party along the path of greatness in Nigeria, particularly the South-West geo-political zone. He described him as a dynamic and brilliant politician.

“The development, growth and peaceful co-existence of the state should be paramount to us. APC is large enough to accommodate everybody. Senator Bola Tinubu has been fair to everybody no matter which divide of the state such a person comes from. Therefore, any citizen of Lagos State who loves this state, who believes he has a stake in the development of this state with a passion, has no reason to be in PDP” he said.
