July 15, 2015 – The winning Generation of Africa Youth Organisation (WIGAYO), has charged Nigerian politicians to focus on fulfilling their electoral promises and stop bickering, now that elections are over.

In a statement issued by the Director of media and publicity of the group,(WIGAYO)Mr. David Olawoye Oluba, the group said enough of unnecessary bickering among politicians who by now supposed to have hit the ground running, base on the promises they made to entice the electorates who voted for them in the last election.

“Nigerians will not want to listen to ‘tales by moonlight’ at the end of four years, so it is high time our politicians sat up and concentrate on fulfilling their electoral promises, they got the votes of the electorates based on those promises they made and nobody is going to listen to any excuse from anyone of them, that was why the ‘ I-had-no-shoe’ campaign story line that did the magic in 2011 could not work for the author in the last general election, because Nigerians are wiser now.

“By now, Nigerian politicians must be discerning enough to know that the political syllabus of the nation has changed, so whoever among them who thinks he can intrigue his way to power in the next election without recourse to the electorates must be reading with the old syllabus, which means failure, because everyone of them shall be measured against the promises they made during the last electioneering campaign and how far they have gone in fulfilling them.”

According to the statement,  the ruling party has no excuse to give to Nigeria at the end of four years because there has never been a time Nigerians are hungry for change like now, which explains the victory of APC at the last presidential election, therefore, the Party should put the nation and the masses first in all their doings, instead of fighting for personal aggrandizement because they can’t afford to fail Nigerians.

Further more, the Publicity Secretary of the group said the People Democratic Party(PDP) should stop taking advantage of the crises in the ruling party, APC, and stop fanning the ember into blazing inferno, which he said is not in the interest of the country.
