July 20, 2015 – The whole of Ajegunle was thrown into commotion and deep mourning on Monday evening following a fire incident that consumed a man presumed to 55 year old.
The incident which involved a 3 storey building occurred this evening at nos. 7 Amore Street, Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria. Ajegunle is a heavily populated Ghetto settlement in a Lagos, Nigeria.
We gathered that four children belonging to the man and other inhabitants in the building were severely burnt and have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Confirming the incident, Director of Fire, Lagos State Fire Service, Engr. Rasaq Fadipe told our correspondent that officials of the Lagos State Fire Service and other emergency services have been drafted to the scene to put off the fire.
“Tragedy struck at 7 Amore Street. An outbreak of fire involving a 3 storey building consumed the life of a man of about 55 years of age while his four children and some others suffered severe burnt and rushed to hospital”, he said via text messages.
Series of fire incidents have been recorded this Ramadan. Earlier today another fire incident was recorded at Jimi Alade Estate powerline at Igando while another occurred at Pako bus stop setting several shops alight.
