June 26, 2015 – Benue State-based Channels Television Correspondent, Mr. Pius Angbo has been suspended by the Benue State House of Assembly for broadcasting free for all fight in the house.
He was suspended from further coverage of proceedings of the house. Speaking on Sunrise daily, a programme on Channels TV, the reporter said he went to the state House of Assembly on Thursday June 25th to cover House proceedings but was informed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House that only accredited journalists will henceforth be allowed to cover events of the state Assembly.
He said that after waiting for one hour and seeing other journalists gaining access into the cambers, he attempted to enter but was stopped by the CPS to the Speaker who told him categorically that the Speaker, Hon Terkimbi Ikyange had ordered that he should not be allowed into the House chambers.
