June 12,, 2015 – Human right lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to go after oil companies which he said owe the Federal Government the sum of N19.3billion.
Falana who was speaking at an occasion to mark 22 years since the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election said that the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has said that oil companies owe Nigerian government the sum of N19.3 billion.
He said no to removal of oil subsidy, stressing that instead of removing subsidy which will indirectly punish the poor masses for what they know nothing about, the Federal Government must go after the oil firms said to be indebted to the Nigerian government and make them to pay for the mess.
He said that Nigerians have voted for change and that the Federal Government should punish all those who have stolen the wealth of the nation.
