May 30, 2015 – The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to remember his campaign promises by putting an end to corruption, impunity and restore national carrier to Nigeria.

In a statement signed by President and Secretary of TUC, Comrades Bobboi Kaigama and Musa Lawal, TUC  charged the President to restore pride to the Naira.

“We look forward to seeing an end to lateness to work again, end to corruption and  restoration of sanity in our system! The Congress wishes to reiterate that this is not the time for mudslinging, this is not the time to witch-hunt anybody, nor a time to spend precious money on advertorials. Rather this is the time to Work! This is the time to fix the Ajaokuta Steel  Mill, the roads and create jobs for our army of youths.

“This is the time to restore our national carrier (Nigerian Airways). This is the time to tame impunity at all levels. This is the time to address the crisis in the oil and gas industry. Most importantly, this is the time to restore the dignity of our currency and provide solution to workers agitations”, TUC said.

TUC called on  President Buhari  to involve good hands, party affiliation notwithstanding all for the good of the country.

“Once again we congratulate the president, the INEC, governors, National Assembly members and Nigerians and we particularly cherish the president’s words: ‘ I belong to everybody. I belong to nobody’. This gives confidence that the era of Godfatherism in politics is on its way to extinction. Congratulations Mr. President”, TUC said.
