May 20, 2015 – Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Sun Newspapers, Mr. Femi Adesina has been appointed as Special Adviser on Media by President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
He will now succeed Dr. Ruben Abati who plays similar role in the present Federal Government that is due to terminate by midnight May 28, 2015.
Although the appointment is yet to be formerly announced, his appointment according to ThisDay has been concluded but merely waiting for some formality before the official announcement.
Adesina was re-elected President Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) for another term of two years in April.
A seasoned journalist, Adesina made his mark in the defunct Weekend Concord with his friend, Mike Awoyinfa. He has put in over 28 years of experience in the industry.
He is today one of the most successful media managers, leading The Sun Newspaper to break even within one year of publication.
