[wysija_form id=”1″]March 16, 2015 – Jide Kosoko road is one road motorists and paedestrians fear to pass through in Ojodu, Lagos as a result of the unruly behaviour of commercial motorbike operators in the area.

The operators who behave as though they are above the law zoom in and out of the road, park on the road and in the process narrowing the road, thus  impeding free flow of vehicles in the area.

The incident has become so worrisome that motorists are calling on the Lagos State Government to call the motorbike operators in the area to order.

Mr. Pius Nduka, who regularly passes through  the road in the morning said he has in most cases been forced to look for alternative routes as a result of the unruly behaviour of commercial motorbike operators.

“Just take a look at how they have blocked the whole road, see how they have blocked both side of the road and narrowed the road in less than a single lane. This road  takes two vehicles conveniently at anytime but just see how narrow it is. You will have to blare the horn a number of times and even attempt to shove paedestrians  away from the road before they will reluctantly give way for you to pass.

“They are a law unto themselves”, he said adding that the impunity is so much that even officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) just stand by the side and watch. They don’t even fear policemen”, he told our correspondent.
