[wysija_form id=”1″]March 11, 2015 – Hell was let loose Wednesday morning when a vehicle conveying a police officer (in mufti) probably attached to one of the private companies in Lagos knocked down a commuter in Ojodu, Lagos.
We gathered that the officer sat in the front of the Toyota Hilux truck with registration number FST 153 XM, Lagos and was blaring the siring in a bit to beat the heavy traffic on Ogunnusi road when the incident happened.
The accident which took place at Ojodu Berger Bus stop on Ogunnusi road just opposite Eko Bank caused a lot of commotion as angry passerby rushed to the scene to vent their spleen on the officer who was armed with AK 47 riffle.
The officer whose names cannot be ascertained however disembarked from his vehicle to attend to his victim.
He pleaded with commuters and the victim, Mr. Omofayin Omokolade for forgiveness and immediately ordered the victim into the back seat and was about to drive him away ostensibly to one of the hospitals when commuters insisted that the victim must not follow him for fear that he could be dropped on the way.
He however stayed with the victim for a while to ensure that he is okay, dropped N1,000 with him and an offer to take him to hospital for treatment if he is not okay.
He told our correspondent that he was called for an urgent assignment and was rushing to the scene hence he drove against traffic.
Omokholade however sustained minor injury on the face but appeared to be fine as at the time of filing this report.
