[wysija_form id=”1″]March 21, 2015 – An Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Abdulrahman Adangba has described decision of the Lagos State Government to ban use of Hijab in public schools as a very painful one.
Adangba who was delivering a lecture during a special Dua’a for peaceful conduct of 2015 elections at the Lagos State Assembly Mosque maintained that wearing of hijab is an identity of Islam and said it should be allowed to be used as a form of decency.
“We are pained over the ban”, he said, adding that those who use hijab to perpetrate evils are not Muslims. He also enjoined leaders to be guided by principle of service, security and success and that leadership must render selfless service at all level.
He called on legislators to abide by doctrines of the holy books and let it serve as the guiding light in the process of making laws.
Adangba, who is the Missioner Fatihu Qoreeb Islamic Society said that no matter the intelligence of human in an attempt to create law, it would always fall short of perfection.
He said that the 1999 constitution has been amended for almost four times and that there will still be need for more amendments,” he said. Adangba explained that the Qur’an and the Holy Bible are devoid of defect.
“The holy Qur’an and the Bible should serve as the guiding principles when creating laws, otherwise there would always be imperfections in the laws made for the people.”
