APC’s One Million Man Match Paralyses Lagos

[wysija_form id=”1″]Match 7, 2015 – Commuters that passed through Ikorodu road today had a hectic time as teeming members and supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) stormed the metropolis for a solidarity march to mobilize electorates, ahead of the March 28 and April 11 elections.

Dubbed One Million Man March , Walk For Change For APC in Lagos State commenced at 8.20am, at Maryland via Ikorodu Road to Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos where participants converged campaign.

Speaking during the occasion, the national leader of APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu said the gale of change blowing across the country will sweep away the vices presently rocking the country and called on the electorates , especially the youths to resist attempts by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to rig the polls and subvert the wish of the people.

Tinubu said the PDP led government shifted the polls from February to March, thinking march will not come.

In his terse speech, Osun State Governor. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said Nigerians were tired of failed promises by the PDP and are ready to throw out anyone that is cog in the quest for nationhood.

In his brief remarks, APC Governorship candidate for Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode said the APC lived up to the biding to carry out the match.

” We told Lagosians that we will do a one – million Man Match and we have achieved it. They could shift the day of the election but they cannot shift our destinies.

” The only party that can give you a prosperous future is the APC . They have saying they will do everything to rig the election to retain power but you know that? All powers belong to God. 21 days from now we will embark on prayers and fasting . We will go to the mosque and churches nothing can stop our destinies.”

Among notable party members, leading the march, are the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; the APC governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode; and Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State .

Others are Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji; Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Lagos Deputy Governor Princes Adejoke Orelope – Adefulire, among others

The one-million-man march witnessed several civil society groups in Lagos; representatives of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority and the Bus Rapid Transit, who donned their official attires.
