February 25, 2015 – The Lagos State House of Assembly is seeking an audience with Miss Josephine Agwu, a cleaner with one of the cleaning concessionaires at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, in Lagos, who found and returned the sum of N12 million to the authorities.

Clerk of the House, Segun Abiru, has  been directed to put everything in place to bring the lady to the House.

Deputy Whip of the House, Rotimi Abiru, had under Matter of Urgent Public Importance, raised the issue, calling the attention of his colleagues to the fact that Agwu was returning a lost money for the third time

Abiru, who noted that the lady, who is earning a monthly salary of N7,800, was given just 50 dollars the second time she found and returned a lost money.

Commenting on the matter, Sanai Agunbiade from Ikorodu Constituency 1, noted that the incident did not occurred in a Lagos State establishment, neither did it occurred in an agency of the state.

Agunbiade pointed out that it won’t be out of place for the House to show a sign that others will emulate, adding that the House should invite the lady and celebrate her as a sign of moral motivation.

Speaker Adeyemi Ikuforiji who presided over the plenary session, expressed surprise that a lady earning a salary of that amount would see money and return it one three different occasions.

Ikuforiji, however, directed the Clerk to arrange for the invitation of Miss Agwu.

It would be recalled that Miss Agwu returned a sum of N12m,  which was probably left behind by a passenger at the security unit of the airport.
