January 12, 2015 – United States on Monday suspended the Tweeter and You Tube account of its Central Command (CENTCOM) following attacks on it by people believed to be supporters of fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria(ISIS) .

Indication that the accounts were hacked became rife when the hackers used the account to publish images and Pentagon documents that reveal contact information for members of the military warning of impending attack on US military.

”AMERICAN SOLDIERS, WE ARE COMING, WATCH YOUR BACK. ISIS,” was the content of the first tweet, followed few hours later by others.

Isis then posted photographs of hooded fighters on the tweeter page.

Pentagon has confirmed the hacking, stressing that what happened was not a serious security threat. It has subsequently suspended the accounts in the meantime.
