January 9, 2015 – The speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembled, Mr. Dele Olugbemi has condemned the attempted gate crash into the Assembly chamber by the former speaker Adewale Omirin and 11 other APC members of the House.

The speaker who was speaking to journalists described attempt of the lawmakers to bungle themselves into the chamber of the assembly in the dead of night as an ignominious act that should be condemned by all the stakeholders in the state.

The speaker queried the intention of the lawmakers led by Omirin on why they decided to choose 11.30pm in the night to come to the hallow chamber when they have refused to attend meeting with them in the day light.

The speaker explained that at around 7pm when he got the information of the planned invasion, he ordered that security should be beefed up around the assembly complex.

Olugbemi said that the runaway lawmakers had planned to steal the mace, sit and distablise the state, wondering why they could not wait for the court to decide on Omirin’s impeachment.

He explained that the former speaker led the other 11 APC members to the Assembly around 11.30pm on the night of Thursday for the purpose of distablising the state , adding that they were however prevented by the security agents.

According to him what would have necessitated the coming into the Assembly of the former speaker and others if not for unholy and nefarious activities, saying that the house which they refused to visit in the daylight has now become their tourist center in the dead of the night just because they wanted to carry out some devilish plans.

He called on them and other APC lawmakers to come out of their hidden and move round in the afternoon rather than roaming round in night to break into the hallow chamber of the Ekiti State house of Assembly.

Olugbemi called on Ekiti people to protect Fayose administration and never allow these enemies to distablise the state.
